Demo rockin’, sandboarding and street skating at pristine spots are what you’ll find in this footy from their Middle Eastern excursion. Saturday, August 28th was a blazing hot day in Vancouver, and a perfect day for the Vans and Bones sponsored Battle At Hastings. This was the first large scale contest ever held at Hastings. Here’s how the contest went down during the Expert division:
“20 guys were narrowed down to a final of five via 4 ten minute jam heats. The finals were: Riley Boland, Sluggo, Adam Hopkins, John (fs kid) Clarke and Chris Connolly. Insane skating ensued for the next 10 minutes. It was non-stop action and everyone seemed to be pushing themselves harder than ever before. Judging was ridiculous! Sluggo landed a perfect 540 in his last run, Hopkins followed with one of his own immediately after. FS kid aired everything and never missed a trick, Connolly ripped around faster than anybody and Riley Boland demonstrated every grab and lip trick known to man. Highlighting his last run with a massive stalefish from the 6’ to the 8’.” - Kevin Kelly, event organizer / Owner BLVD skate shop.
Expert:
1: Riley Boland $800
Tie 2nd: Sluggo $300 // Adam Hopkins $300
Tie 3rd: John “Frontside Kid” Clarke $100 // Chris Connolly $100
Masters:

2: Telly Cameron $100
